ABOUT THE POETS:
FRANCESCA LISETTE~ Francesca Lisette holds an MA in Critical Theory from the University of Sussex, where she organised the reading series Chlorine in Brighton, 2009 – 2010. A collection of her poetry written between 2007 and 2010 has just been released from Mountain Press; extracts of her work can be found in Better than Language: An Anthology of New Modernist Poetries (Ganzfeld, 2011). She is currently working on a project combining poetry and performance elements entitled sub rosa; or, “The Book of Metaphysics”, and is the editor of the forthcoming poetry and review magazine, EROSION.
ARIANA REINES~ Born in Salem, Massachusetts, poet, playwright, and translator Ariana Reines earned a BA from Barnard College, and completed graduate work at both Columbia University and the European Graduate School, where she studied literature, performance, and philosophy. Her books of poetry include The Cow (2006), which won the Alberta Prize from Fence Books; Coeur de Lion (2007); and Mercury (2011). Her poems have been anthologized in Against Expression (2011) and Gurlesque (2010).
LISA ROBERTSON~ Lisa Robertson is in the middle of her life, in the middle of France, in the midst of fields. She has a new book of essays called Nilling, from Bookthug in Toronto, the city where she was born. Recent books of poetry include The Men, R’s Boat and Lisa Robertson’s Magenta Soul Whip. She is entirely freelance.

STACY DORIS~ Stacy Doris (1962-2012) lived hugely. Her final book of poetry, Fledge: A Phenomenology of Spirit, is just out with Nightboat, and Publication Studio recently published her infamous book of French Revolution essays, The Cake Part. The last 10 years of her life she taught at San Francisco State University in the Creative Writing Program, but what she taught was not so much how to write, as how to dare to listen to, risk, remember, and transform life. She also translated contemporary French poetry– Anne Portugal, Christophe Tarkos, Dominique Fourcade, among many others– and wrote autobiographical prose in French, as “sa femme”. Some of her work in digital sound recording and performance she did in collaboration with Lisa Robertson, as The Perfume Recordist.
